Our Goal

It is our goal to disseminate the science of ABA practice to improve the lives of individuals with autism and their families.

How it started

From the moment I entered the field of behavior analysis, I became acutely aware of the staggering number of individuals with autism in Ethiopia who are left without access to essential resources, education, or support. Families are often left to navigate these challenges on their own, and professionals frequently lack the necessary training to provide effective, evidence-based services. It quickly became clear to me that there was an urgent need for high-quality applied behavior analysis (ABA) services in Ethiopia.

As I pursued my certification to become a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), my passion for disseminating the science of ABA—especially in underserved areas, such as Ethiopia—grew stronger. I began reaching out to individuals, organizations, and centers to share my vision: to make ABA-based support and programming a reality for individuals with autism in Ethiopia. At the same time, I embraced the vision of the International Behavior Analysis Organization (IBAO) to expand access to advanced training and professional certification globally.

I became an Approved Content Provider (ACP) for the International Behavior Analyst (IBA) and International Behavior Technician (IBT) certifications. Through this role, I began offering culturally competent ABA coursework aligned with IBAO’s Required Educational Objectives (REO), as well as supervision, mentorship, training, and consultation for IBA and IBT candidates. I also work directly with professionals, schools, caregivers, and centers supporting learners with autism in Ethiopia.

What continues to inspire and energize me is IBAO’s commitment to making the dissemination of ABA a truly global mission—one that is contextually appropriate and not geographically limited to North America. Through the science of ABA and the work of organizations like IBAO, I believe we can make the world a better place for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities, and for the families and professionals who support them.
